Video Interaction Guidance
delivered remotely through Zoom
Parent consultation - 1 hour
VIG uses videos of people in everyday situations to improve communication and to find ways of getting on better. Within my practise I use VIG with parents, foster carers, adoptive parents and special guardians who want to improve their relationship with their child or children. People are often unsure about seeing themselves on film but nearly everyone is surprised by how good VIG makes them feel!

How is VIG delivered
Usually delivered remotely through Zoom, but can be delivered in your home if you live within 15 miles of LS29 postcode. Following the initial set-up meeting where I guide you to set goals for the sessions to follow, I will video you and your child for 10-15 minutes. I will then edit this video for moments of positive interactions. I will then share these moments with you in a shared review that usually last for 1 hour. We will repeat this cycle of video and review a further two times. After 3 cycles, or for however many cycles we have agreed would be helpful, we will have a final meeting to review progress against your goals and celebrate your success. I will then send you a letter summarising our work together.

Fees:
Free 30 minute consultation over the phone to explore whether VIG is right for you and your child.

Set-up meeting, 3 cycles of VIG (6 sessions) and follow-up meeting + written summary letter. £1000 (payable before first cycle)

For each additional VIG cycle. £250
A parent consultation is useful if you feel your child is not making progress at school, or is struggling with social and emotional difficulties, but you are unsure what is wrong or what to do next. You may feel your child has an undiagnosed condition such as autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, specific literacy difficulty, or developmental language disorder. Or you may be worried about your child's mental wellbeing.

Through a conversation either using video technology or face to face if you live within 15 miles of LS29, I will help you to explore your child's needs and what the underlying cause/s might be. I will then help you to decide on the next steps, which could involve asking for the school SENCO to complete assessment, or referral to another professional for assessment or diagnosis. I can also advise you on applying for an EHCP and what you might need to consider.

Fees:
£80 per hour. One hour is usually all you will need. (payable on or before the consultation date)
